Meet Kris, Kylie,
and Venue 901

Kris and Kylie are a mother and daughter team that have lived their entire lives in Newark. They are the third generation in the legacy of the building that is now Venue 901.

Kylie’s grandparents, Bobbi and Art Wills, built the building in 2000 for Excel Academy. Excel Academy was an alternative school that was attended by Kylie. To assist with the school’s finances, and to support the wonderful education they provided for Kylie and their other students, Bobbi and Art provided the building for Excel’s bingo fundraising.

Art and Bobbi passed away in 2020 and the building became Kris’. On January 1, 2025, the building was available for Kylie and Kris’ dream… Venue 901, named in honor of Bobbi and Art’s house number - 901, that offers their Central Ohio community with unlimited possibilities for their dream events.

Kylie graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Retail and Marketing. She has seventeen years in the service industry. Kris spent the majority of her forty years in the purchasing and customer service industry at one of Newark’s largest manufacturing facilities. With their business experiences and their visions, their venue will provide their clients with the canvas to create a unique event.
